It's funny...I had JUST re-read the first part, and then chapter 1 in this when I saw that you had updated. I was hoping you would. YAY! Happy camper.
So, as a parent, I can somewhat see Deb's initial reaction. We all want to support our kids. We all want to think the best of them and would hope that they wouldnt' do harm to others. She however seems to have blinders on! She's faced with the whole gang telling her the same thing, yet she still doesn't want to face facts. She wants to deny it. Wants to stick her head in teh sand it seems. Then, she seems to think that Brian needs to do something about it and seems affronted by the suggestion of him seeing Dr. wilder. Not sure where her thoughts are going to take her. I can only hope that she doesn't continue to look at the situation blindly and that she actually WILL try to get him the help he obviously needs.
question is, what will Michael's reaction be??

I have to say that this chapter rings true. Ben talking with Em and ending up staying with him sounds perfect. Ted being a true friend for Brian and giving his insight into Michael's behavior is just what I've always thought. The question I have is does Deb mention that they are all going to Brian's to Michael and does he barge in being the 'best friend'?

This is a very entertaining chapter, Kathy. I especially like the strong friendship between Brian and Ted. That developing friendship (as well as Ted's increasing self confidence) was one of the very few things I liked about season 5.
Hmm, might Em and Ben evolve into a couple? I think they'd do well together.
I like the way the boys prepare to greet the family!

I hope Deb listens instead of looking to place blame on Brian like usual cause her son has gone off the deep end and he needs help.
Ted really is the best friend Michael could never be because he listens, gives good advice and doesn't need to smother Brian, he knows the boundaries and even though he might occasionally step a toe out of line Brian knows he is just being honest and has no ulterior motive.
There are some friendships that last a lifetime and others that fade into the background, I think Michael knows that he has been left behind and instead of facing it he is reverting back into his fourteen year old self and hurting others in the process.
So happy you have written another chapter :)

Well what's there to say but I'm so happy you are continuing this story. Loved the way Emmet took Ben in. And still wondering about Michaels antics. Ted pointed it out very poigniantly: Michael is never, ever, ever going to grow up. And who's to blame for that?
That dinner is certainly not going to be easy for some persons. Let's wait and see.

Thrilled beyond measure to see that you are continuing with this fic! Definitely looking forward to what the family will be discussing over this dinner. What will Deb's reactions be I wonder? How will they all deal with Michael?
LOVE Ted and Brian's friendship, and that Brian really listen's to Ted and apprecaite's their friendship. I've always thought that their friendship, in the latter part of the series should've been given more attention. Ted really came into his own by then and I love his character.
Heartbroken for Ben though. Thankfully he has the support of the gang. He may not realize it at the moment, and may be nervous about everyone's reaction at the dinner, but I'm sure he will be assured that no one blames him. (again, I guess we'll have to wait and see on Deb)
Whatever happens tonight, Michael needs help! Will he get it? Will he face facts and finally understand that there's no hope? That he and the rest of the gang, like was discussed, have very little in common anymore. Sad, but that tend to happen in some friendships over time.
Will await the next chapter with baited breath!
