I don't think we should feel bad about crying for fictional characters because that just means that someone's wonderful story has touched our hearts & souls. This was very sad obviously but very joyful as well when we see the fabulous life that Brian & Justin had together, even though it was cut short way too soon.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - there is nothing that can tell a real love story like a death fic. The psyche is simply laid bare when you lose someone you love deeply. It allows a kind of emotive writing that just won't sound 'right' for someone like Brian Kinney in any other circumstances. This was so well done - the lead up to Justin's second diagnosis and then the months of 'knowing' that death is near. Death is the one future that we all hold in common and the sharing of it tells every person's story.
Well done. I'm gonna go cry some more now. And that's a good thing.

Not so long ago, I write you a review saying it was a beautiful story and I stand by it. I don't usually read death fic but this one is wonderful. And yes, I cried at the end but it was because of their love for each other not because of their death.

My heart is breaking...I thought I'd wait til now to write a review though. I think you're a very good writer and I'm enjoying your style. I don't have a problem with MCD's, I prefer angsty fanfics anyway but I will say this one is hard.
I also don't understand why some people are so angry with you. This is a beautifully written, heartbreaking story. I hope you change your mind though and allow them to enjoy life.

My heart is heavy but also uplifted by this! It is such a beautifully woven story that I can't help the conflicting emotions running through me. I'm glad that Justin's family is welcoming of Brian even after all the history between him and Justin. Eric is a gem and I really hope that he finds happiness for himself. He is like Ben and for the life in me, I can't imagine what it has been for him to be around Michael.
Speaking of Michael...and Lindsay! A Mitch and Bitch if there ever was one! I cheered aloud when Brian told both of them that their opinions were both unwanted and unneeded. It was a long overdue attitude to take with his supposed 'best friends.' But then Michael just needed to be a jerk and get his opinion across anyway. Such an asshole! Then Lindsay with her passive-aggressive idiocy, telling Justin that she and Gus would be there for Brian....Guttersnipe! I can't believe that she had the termerity to say that to Justin in Brian's presence thinking only of herself and her heteronormative fantasy of being Brian's 'IT' girl. Delusional, evil, ignorant idiots the pair of them!
My heart really went out to Brian and Justin during this trying time in the story. I love that they were in a sense dreaming aloud and are both on the same page, even if I am sad that it took this to get them there. Hopefully Justin will come through the procedure beating the odds as he has always done!

This is such an amazing story! Loving every minute of it.

I've got to say that I thought this story was heading this way for a while. Too much pointing to that. There is always hope though. Brian wanting to have their relationship, indeed even admitting that they have one, out in the open is wonderful. Whatever way you decide to go with this will be the right way. You've managed to get people talking and not every story has a happy ending. So never be sorry for being the writer you are. Indeed I will read this until the end, I might end up crying or not.

Honestly if I had known it was an MCD I probably wouldn't have read it. But I AM SO HAPPY THAT I AM!! I would have missed out on this phenomenal story with twists, turns and real emotion that is so close to RL reactions, it's heartbreaking while at the same time being beautiful in its honesty.
Please do not let the angry folks (especially those who are throwing stones under the name 'Anonymous') deter you from completing this amazing work. From experience, I can tell you and ALL who would ask or listen that no outline for a story is EVER etched in stone. Whether you began writing with a MCD warning or not, is actually irrelevant in light of how amazing and heartfelt this work truly is. They have the option to continue reading or not and that decisions is out of your hands. Never apologize for staying true to your vision of your work. Your job as a writer- as THE AUTHOR- is to be undettered and honest in your delivery for your characters. Yes, readers are important, I would never say otherwise, but your job is to present the story and make them feel as if they are a part of it (which in a lot of respects they are but only as voyeurs). You are an amazing talent and I, for one, feel honored to be reading your work. I'm completely invested in this for many different reasons, not the least because I have headaches as Justin described. It is a chronic condition for me called Mixed Migraine Headache Disorder and I can have up to 20 different types of headaches at one time. Not an easy way to live at all. So I understand the hopelessness, despair and anguish Justin feels in divulging a much more serious condition. At the same time, I understand what Brian is feeling because my own dad passed from Cancer 3 years ago after battle both Prostate and Colon for 12 years. It is LIFE plain and simple. And as long as there is resolution be it here in this realm or the next for Brian and Justin, I will be happy and continue to support you. Will it hurt like hell watching one of my beloveds transition?? ABSOLUTELY but again that's all part and parcel of being human. And you're certainly humanized these fictional characters so that we feel everything they do.
