What a great relief to have Rob coming to help Brian. At least he has someone who knows the constraints of being paralyzed and who doesn't let Brian's BS in the way.
The meeting with Joan could have been worse; I wondered if she would tell Brian that he was being punished, once more.
Poor Justin, having to go through painful and slow physical therapy a second time. I hope he will get back the mobility of his hand and get the motivation to do it.
Gus and Rob should be able to get Brian out of his funk.
Author's Response:
Thank you <3 Missed you on the last chapter! Brian told Joan off 10 years ago and hasn’t seen her since...but she did say the last time they saw each other, that she shouldn’t have said what she said. However, she definitely isn’t reformed. ;)
Justin and Brian are starting a process now, with getting Justin better, and Brian finally facing everything he’s stuffed down over the years about the bashing.

I'm so glad to see Justin improving. Now we just need Brian to get over his UTI.
Date: Nov 29, 2018 3:54 am Title: Relief
Fantastic chapter. Little by little the progress will come. Amazing writing.
Author's Response:
Yes, it's starting to happen! It's a long road, and it will take patience, and it won't be easy. Thanks for reading <3

I love this version of Michael, who thinks before talking/acting and actually manage to help Brian without embarrassing him. He was able to make Brian admit that something was wrong and got him to take care of himself.
It's beautifully written and considering the subject, it's amazing how you make your readers feel.
Amazing job!
Author's Response:
Thank you so much <3 I like writing this version of Michael as well. We are 10 years post series now in the story, so I figure it's about time for him to fully embrace adulthood. ;)

excellent chapter- So glad Brian let Michael help him. Wonderful that Justin talked to Brian. Great update and can't wait for more.
Author's Response:
Thank you <3 Things are definitely starting to turn around.
Date: Nov 25, 2018 8:32 pm Title: Sleep
Wow, wonderful writing. Going to have to get some more tissues soon. Could feel all the emotion and pain. It is nice that Michael in this story is not the usual whiney, jerk that he can be.
Author's Response:
Thank you <3 I feel like I end up giving you a good cry every chapter. ;) And I love writing mature Michael and playing up all the best parts of the character and his friendship with Brian.
Date: Nov 25, 2018 5:50 pm Title: Sleep
Poor Brian. At least Justin remembers. Now Brian can settle down and get some sleep so he can be there for Justin.
Author's Response:
Relieving some of the anxiety is definitely going to be helpful!
Date: Nov 22, 2018 2:49 am Title: Pain Management
Oh Brian. Glad he had enough mind to call Michael. But Brian is sick - probably a UTI and needs medical attention. Just loving this story and you are doing such a great job of writing all the emotions and scenes.
Author's Response:
Thank you <3 I appreciate that! I'm glad you're loving it!

OMG poor Brian, what a predicament! Okay, I have to ask, why didn't he just ask Jennifer what they talking about, it's not like they aren't close? And why didn't he tell her about his concerns with Justin's memory? And since Brian was already at the hospital, why didn't he tell someone of his pain, they could've probably given him something. I know this particular hospital stay isn't about Brian but still, after all these years, he must have learned how to ask for help a little. Obviously, he's sick with a fever at least, not to mention his pain. Oh my goodness, the poor guy, he thinks his world is crashing around him again.
Author's Response:
I know, it's an intense one -- the "hurt" part of hurt/comfort, cranked up to full blast for sure. Jennifer and Justin actually weren't even talking about Brian at the time. It's not even important what they were talking about. :) As for asking about his own pain...if you're not the one being treated and they're not your doctors, unfortunately I'm not sure it's quite that easy. And when it's neuropathic pain, that gets more complicated because it's very hard to treat and often things don't work. This chapter is also a turning point though -- things are starting to demand to be dealt with.

Whoa, what a mess! What a Christmas! It started quite well, but the end is so depressing. Maybe Brian will finally take care of his health, even if he is not willing to do so. With Justin not remembering their life together, I don't see how he will be motivated.
Author's Response:
Yes, this chapter is very, very intense. It's a turning point. Things that have been building for a while are coming to a head now and demanding to be dealt with and not put off for any longer. The full extent of Justin's memory loss is not yet clear...Brian's perception is very much skewed by his own mental state.
Date: Nov 21, 2018 7:56 pm Title: Pain Management
Is Mikey the right person to call for help? Wouldn't Ben be a better choice. Looks like Justin's lost some years memories.
Author's Response:
The extent of Justin's memory issues are not yet clear, but they will be before too much longer, I think. Brian doesn't have the history with Ben that he has with Michael...although yeah, Ben would make sense too. I'm just not sure Brian trusts him in the same way.

Wow, tissue box time again. What a powerful chapter. Your writing is truly amazing. I can feel the pain and since they have faces because of the series, I can see it. I have to agree with Brian, why can't they get a break, but then there would not be a story. Hope you have a nice Thanksgiving, if you celebrate.
Author's Response:
Thank you <3 I know this chapter is "beat up Brian" cranked up to level 11, but I promise there will be BIG payoff for all of this in the end...the more hurt, the better the comfort, right? Happy Thanksgiving to you too!
Date: Nov 19, 2018 3:49 am Title: Danger
oh no. I hope everything will be alright. At least Brian is calling for help. ( hopefully)- great story and oh the angst
Date: Nov 19, 2018 12:57 am Title: Danger
CLIFFHANGER !!!!!!!!!!!! But still a great chapter. Even when Michael is trying to be nice, he is still annoying in so many ways. Hope you get another chapter before Thanksgiving, but in case you can't, hope you have a wonderful holiday.
Author's Response:
I might...we'll see...but probably not before Thanksgiving. I hope you have a happy holiday as well! I guess if Michael is still a little bit annoying, that means he's in character, right? ;) Thanks for reading <3
Date: Nov 18, 2018 9:26 pm Title: Danger
Oh no, not a cliffhanger! That's torture. What did he do? I hope not a trick or attempt suicide.
Author's Response:
Not either of those things. ;) It will all be fully revealed in the next chapter...which is not yet written except partially. But in the meantime...suspense gives you an opportunity to play around with all of the possibilities in your head. <3

It's amazing how when people try to help it's really no help at all. How did Brian fuck up? Or is it all in his mind?
Author's Response:
You'll find out in the next chapter... ;)
Date: Nov 15, 2018 10:27 pm Title: Alone
Does Justin know him by sight or trying to ask where Brian is.
Horrible to be in Brian's position, his husband in the hospital, especially during the holidays. A dark time for him.
Author's Response:
He knows Brian, but isn't saying much else. It's definitely a dark time!
Date: Nov 15, 2018 4:20 pm Title: Alone
I know that Brian would fight anybody trying to help him, but I hope someone will do just that. He can't stay in this physical / mental stress too long.
Author's Response:
It will all come to a head very soon...
Date: Nov 15, 2018 3:01 am Title: Alone
Wonderful chapter. Tissue box time for sure. So much pain and hurt for Brian and his Sunshine. And, thank you for Michael not being a jerk.
Author's Response:
I like Michael. In my stories, he's a good friend. He has flaws, sure, but he isn't going to be the villain in any of my stories. <3 Thank you!
Date: Nov 15, 2018 2:44 am Title: Alone
Want to find out more about Justin. How is he doing. Hope Brian thanked Ben for his gift.
Author's Response:
He did; I said that in the story. ;) Justin is holding his own, but still just awakening briefly. Not really enough for us to find out too much at this point.
Date: Nov 11, 2018 7:54 am Title: Take Care
Debbie's view from Brian's life are quite thorough and disturbing; he is not right at all and shouldn't be alone. It will be a huge challenge to make him admit that and get help.
Author's Response:
You're correct; he shouldn't be alone.
Date: Nov 11, 2018 4:13 am Title: Take Care
Debbie is right to be worried and I hope that Brian lets her in. Justin needs to wake up and then Brian might let others see what he is feeling
Author's Response:
If there's one thing Brian Kinney doesn't do well, it's letting other people know what he's feeling...
Date: Nov 11, 2018 3:06 am Title: Take Care
Worrying about Justin is making it hard for Brian. Seeing things through Debs eyes gives you a different prospective. Where is Alex Wilder when you need him?
Author's Response:
I'm glad you liked Deb's perspective! I think it's a unique one when it comes to Brian.
Date: Nov 11, 2018 1:34 am Title: Take Care
Thank goodness Brian has Debbie. But, all his pain just makes it so hard for her to help. Wonderful chapter.
Author's Response:
Thank you <3 Sometimes we all need our mama!
Date: Nov 07, 2018 3:05 pm Title: Post Trauma
Nightmares are not fun and Brian seems to be having them all in one night is overkill. I have had that myself, with dreaming I'm going on a trip and find out I didn't pack certain things I need. I'm very happy that Justin is back with us and hope there are no lasting reprecussions.
Author's Response:
Brian definitely had a bad night! We will be learning more about Justin in Ch. 8...
