I didn't wait for the end to cry. I cried pretty much through most of it and that is a sign of such great writing. When you can make the reader feel the emotions, you have done a fantastic job. Can't wait to see where you take our boys from here. Hoping it is a great ride for both of them. On a personal note, I have a cousin who has spent his entire life (over 60 years) in a wheelchair and the family has always wondered just how he has done all that he did in his lifetime, but it is as if he never let it affect him. He is as independent today as he was when he was old enough to start taking care of himself. He could have a motorized chair, but his comment was "they are for weaklings". So I guess you have to learn to accept what you are given no matter how difficult it is. Thank you for sharing your amazing ideas for this story.
Author's Response:
Yes, you have to play with the hand you're dealt. I do think it's particularly hard later in life though, like what is happening here with Brian. After you're set in your ways and you have your life established, then it all gets upended. Brian is definitely thankful for his independence in this story, even if he still harbors some bitterness. I'm glad your cousin is doing well!

Great update. A peek into Brian's thought process. I like the man he's become. Him and Ted, love the friendship that developed over the years. Can have an adult conversation. Brian's right about Michael, always comes back to him no matter the subject.
Brian needs this, this move. This new road. This journey to happiness and acceptance.

I'm thinking Ted gave the okay on Brian's moving. Can't wait to see how it works out.

I love stories that are so well written they take you from everyday life and transport you right into another place. This is definitely one of those stories! After a life altering experience it is wonderful to see Brian consider moving to NY, and even moreseo openly express his love for Justin again and realize they "need each other" in so many ways. Expressing Brians thoughts of how the gang in the Pitts saw him now versus the old Brian, and how in NYC he was virtually invisible to the stares, the pity, will indeed give Brian a chance to be his own man once again with Justin by his side! I hope you will add many more chapters to this wonderful story. Candy

Go there Brian jump! Great chapter.

Like how Brian discusses things with Ted and expects to get truth. He's come to a decision and if Ted can make it work he'll be in NY with Justin.

You can feel Brian's pain in this chapter. What will be Michael's reaction to Brian's move to New York? Great chapter thank you.

big bomb- wow- loving the story

Wow, what a powerful chapter. Could just feel all the pain and anger that Brian was going through. Great writing.
Author's Response:
Thank you! I felt like this was a risky chapter because it was Michael's POV, but I really wanted all of this out on the table and he was the only way to get it. After this we'll go back to Brian and Justin POV. ;)

Michael didn't think to call Justin not because he didn't want to worry him but because if Justin showed up Michael would no longer be in charge or learn what was going on with Brian first. You know he's Brian's bestest bud.
Once Brian accepted this new life he begin to become his old self, bad as new. Justin and him going to NY by himself put that sparkle back in his eyes.
Oh no however is Michael going to do if Brian moves away? Will he fight him? Probably. Can't wait to see how Michael handles that bit of news.
Author's Response:
Interesting perspective! I hadn't thought about it from that angle, but it's true as well, that Justin showing up would undermine Michael's importance in the situation, which he might not have been willing to give up. Perhaps another subconscious motivation there. Brian is going through a pretty significant shift right now, and there will be another one later. But yes, the taste of independence, knowing that he could still manage fully on his own, and people not having this before-and-after view of Brian was definitely something he needed. Will Michael fight him? Maybe. ;)

Très belle histoire. J’attends la suite avec impatience. Merci

Merci! Thank you for reading!

It is time for Brian to stop fighting himself. I can see Kinnetik in NY. Even if they start out small. Seems Brian can breathe easier. I see him as an advocate for wheelchair accessibility. He could be running ads and doing PR work. He handled the trains with no problem. Justin would be right beside him all the way.
Author's Response:
Thanks! I'm working on the idea of getting Brian to NY permanently in my head right now. :) It probably won't happen for at least a couple of chapters though. Great idea on being an advocate for accessibility as well. It's definitely such BS how so few people think about whether or not people with mobility impairments can use their space or patronize their business.

I really like this new chapter. I hope Brian can do his agency in New York to be with Justin and start a new life.
Author's Response:
Thank you! I'm glad you liked it. I've got ideas brewing in my head for New York!

Great second chapter. Iike the way you are headed with Brian learning how to ignore the nay sayers.
Author's Response:
Thank you! He's working through the stages of grief. He's not quite there yet, though.

Wow, great chapter. So happy you are continuing the story. Maybe Brian will make that move to NY that he always thought he wanted. A branch office would be nice. Terrific writing.
Author's Response:
Thanks for the compliments -- I'm happy you are enjoying the story! Maybe he will!

Would love to see more of the story as they grow together as a couple. Great story and good portrayal of spinal cord injury.
Author's Response:
Thank you! Accurately portraying SCI is one of my goals with this story. I'm working on a part 2 now, and it may even continue beyond that. One of the benefits of setting the story post-series -- I can go on as long as I can think of plots! ;)
