This was kind of tough to read. I understand deep, raging anger... although my own was directed at a drunk driver. But thoughts are hard to shut off. And they are hard to get under control. And to know you've hurt the one person who means the most in the world to you... it's just, how do you deal with that? But Brian isn't letting it bother him, so Justin really needs to let it go.
And on the flip side, I'm sure Brian is feeling partially guilty, because if he wouldn't have stormed out, this probably wouldn't have happened.
Yes, a deep heart-to-heart is called for, and Brian needs to apologize to Justin.

Brian is everything Michael could never be and Michael used the fact that as a abused kid Brian would hate to see anyone hurt so Michael used that weakness to bask in Brian's shadow while also resenting his place in that shadow.
Then Deb and Vic showed Brian affection which also ratched up the resentment especially if Uncle Vic praised Brian while also lecturing Michael to do better.
Then along comes Justin who showed Brian that he saw past the Legend and mask to the heart of Brian while accepting that Brian is not a perfect man but living him still flaws and all and the jealousy increases because Justin fought for a place by Brian's side and he came to outshine Brian another thing Michael could never do.
In just a few hours Justin did something that Michael could never anything and he had years Justin could be seen as an equal to the King of Liberty Avenue while Michael was pushed further into the shadows by a seventeen year old with very little experience.
Justin showed he was on Brian's level and that despite everything he could still achieve his goals while Michael had to lie and steal.
Michael and Lindsay desire Brian but they also hate him because while they would lie down and whine about not getting what they desire, Brian works hard to get everything and doesn't let anything get in his way to be the best.
Brian should've left Michael behind after graduation but because of a misplaced sense of loyalty he stuck around to let the abuse continue and now because of the truth finally being shown to him is Brian ready to let go of those who seek to destroy him for their own selfish reasons.
I say burn that prison Michael had set up for Brian to the ground and plant a community garden.

I fell asleep last night too early to read this. I was so excited you received so many reviews... SNO... she did this to me once before... before I could reach a monumental review number! Oh well! I was surprised by her comments though. Maybe you should have used: Is the Pope is Catholic? And Nadia. Way back then, I was fairly newly married, but it's one of the few times that I DEMANDED the TV was MINE! But you were a youngen yet when that happened. I never thought about that while reading. You were just a 'wee little thing'... All that said...
I thoroughly enjoyed the easy, fun banter at the beginning between Darius, his mother, and Judge Stone. And right before you made the comment that to see Stone in that setting... it crossed my mind: What a sight to see a JUDGE in. But it's the laid back stuff like that... that makes a story so much more enjoyable to read.
TIME TO SPECULATE...
Michael, in my opinion, was always jealous of Brian. Brian came into a new school... instantly had attention, besides being handsome, SMART, and athletic... all three things Michael could never hope to be or become. But then Brian defended him, took punches for him, did his homework for him, gave him status. A sexual prowess. Who would want to lose that? Without Brian by his side, he never had anything. Wouldn't have been a blip on anyone's radar. Then the ultimate, Michael wanted to be in Brian's bed... someplace Brian didn't want him. Jealousy, jealousy... (I will be posting a one-shot today-it kind of has this in it)... anyway, then he brought Brian home. Vic and Deb loved him. causing more jealousy. But Michael didn't want to lose that status... so let's keep Brian needing him... thus going to Jack. But all these attributes, as they got older, and Michael was put more and more on the back burner, he grew to hate him. Realized he would never have him. Not the way he wanted. Enter a seventeen-year-old twink who got everything Michael ever wanted... HATE ensues.
That's my take on everything, but I am so very anxious to see what else you have come up with, as I'm sure it will be monumental and pull this all together.
Did Michael make promises to people (as Brian's best friend) that he was not able to carry out - thus getting himself in trouble? How many people were giving him money that he had a million dollars, yet wasn't able to fulfill promises? (yes, I'm speculating.)
Oh well, it was entertaining. As I said, anxious to see your take on why Michael hates Brian. (Justin's a given.)

I really chuckled how you worked Chris peeing his pants into the story. Since Justin isn't going to be involved in the pink posse, well, we still got the thrill of Chris' embarrassing moment. I'm looking forward to learning more about the Bubble/Christian love arc, and the Bright/Ben love arc. Sure Ben might be skittish, he's been burned... bad... but he must know a good man when he meets him. And it sounds like they've known each other, so Ben must know he's a good man.
I can hardly wait to hear what Novotny will mumble away whilst in solitary. It might be scary and repulsive!
OKAY... so out of our P.I.T.A threesome, who's blood and saliva samples matched those taken from Jason Kemp?

Going way back... What did Mel and Janean ever discover about Ben's checkbook and accounts?
Is Samuel in jail too? What did they find in his office that Chris turned over?
We never heard more on Herkowitz or his missing 4.8 million, or if he is Russo's lawyer, too. But, I'd be interested in knowing how he could get a would-be murderer (Chris Hobbs) moved to better accommodations. I would think the courts aka Judge Stone would not grant ANY leniency.
Kip Thomas... there's something there... I can't remember really well... but he can't get a decent job... mad at Justin... there was something. Do we still need to worry about him?
When Lindsay lost her Alienation of Affection suit... how did she still have money to pay that? Why aren't her accounts frozen like Michael's?
And just how much money does Michael owe B/J, and does Lindsay owe Brian money too, for all the money she extorted saying it was for Gus?

Catching up on the story. Amazing writing and the twists and turns are always great. Michael is so horrible and I'm thrilled that folks are not jsut turning an eye on what he says. He'l get his and finally mabye Brian and Justin can live the life they want and deserve.
