This is a continuation of my short story Independence Day. Brian and Claire were raised by Vic after their mother killed their father and herself. 

Four years, rich business man and artist Brian Kinney was shot and nearly killed but an angel, called Justin, saved his life, it took two years of rehab for Brian to return to almost being the Stud that he was before. But neither of them have forgotten the other; so when they are brought back together by Liberty Avenue's Mistress of Love, Marilyn, and his close friend, Emmett, sparks fly, to the delight of most of The Avenue, as well as Justin's friends Daphne and Chris.

But the thought on everyone's mind is who tried to kill Brian? Why did they do it? And just why is Michael's childhood best friend, Mercy, back in town? What is the secret she is hiding? This is a story of mysteries, justice and revenge but most of all love.

Brian, Justin, and their extended family continues to go through life.  There are ups and downs but there is nothing they can't do when they do it together.

Warning: Chapter 20 does have the death of a child in it but it is not a core character and the rest of the story does not contain anything like that.

Brian is a slave and has been ever since he has been sold into slavery by his parents as a teenager. One day he is being sold by his current owner. Who will be his new owner? Will life be better with his new master?

I was in Atlanta when I first started noticing the strange, intermittent numbness and tingling in the fingers of my right hand. I was finishing up some paperwork, and I was having a hard time holding onto the pen, though at the time I thought it was just because I couldn't feel my fingers in the way that I was used to. I knew I'd been pushing myself too hard, spending too much time working on my laptop and not enough time doing yoga, so I thought it was probably just stress. I needed a break, although I wasn't sure when I was going to get one, because I was only scheduled to have two days at home before I had to leave again to travel to Dallas.

“Who the fuck is calling me now?” Brian muttered as he rubbed his eyes and tried to focus on the clock. It was 2:16 a.m., and this call had better not be a client with some so-called emergency, because Brian had people who were supposed to deal with that, whom he’d hired in an effort to keep late night phone calls from happening. He was more than a little perturbed at having been woken up and was ready to give the person on the other end a piece of his mind, until he saw the caller’s name on the display. It was Rob, and that realization sent Brian’s heart into his throat. Rob was an “early to bed, early to rise” sort of guy, and would definitely not be calling at 2 a.m. unless something was seriously wrong.
